After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in Computer Science, Viresh started a software company which eventually became InstallShield Software Corporation, headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois. Viresh’s strong vision and entrepreneurial spirit drove InstallShield Software Corporation to become the leading provider of innovative software distribution and deployment solutions for the personal computer. InstallShield is one of the most recognized programs running on the PC. In 2004 Viresh sold the company to Macrovision. Viresh has received multiple industry awards including KPMG’s “Illinois High Tech Award,” Silicon India Magazine’s “Top 100,” and Ernst & Young’s “Software Entrepreneur of the Year Award”.
Viresh is also recognized by top Chicago business publication, Crain’s Chicago Business, as a driving force within Chicago’s technology arena. He has been included in Crain’s prestigious “Forty Under Forty: Executives to Watch” issue as well as the elite “Who’s Who in Chicago Business” list.
Viresh is a co-founder of TiE Midwest Chapter and served as its president. TiE Midwest is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and fostering entrepreneurship. In addition Viresh is a member of the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science Advisory Council and on the advisory board of its Farley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
Viresh is a strong supporter of entrepreneurship and serves on the boards of several technology companies.
Viresh resides in suburban Chicago, with his wife and four children.
