Extended Care Information Network and President of Allscripts

Jeff Surges is currently President of Allscripts Misys Healthcare Solutions, with oversight for the Company’s Sales organization.  The Allscripts Sales organization is an industry leading team positioned across all of the Allscripts market segments.  Additionally, client facing executives, strategic account management and solution sales organizations are under his leadership.

Prior to leading this team, Jeff was President of the Allscripts Health Systems Group, a business unit representing all Acute Care Hospital and Health Systems, Home Care & Hospice and Post Acute organizations.  As a full operating business unit, this group played an instrumental role in supporting and complimenting the company’s ambulatory strategies.

Mr. Surges was formerly the CEO of ECIN (Extended Care Information Network), from 1999 – 2007.   ECIN is the leading provider of hospital based Case Management, Discharge Planning and Referral Management to the Post Acute and Extended Care industry.  Allscripts acquired ECIN in December of 2007 as the Company successfully evolved from an early-stage, venture-backed Company to industry leader in case management automation.

Prior to leading ECIN in October of 1999, Mr. Surges was President and General Manager of McKesson’s Resource Management Group, a division with over $100 million in annual revenue and 40% year over year growth.

In addition to his proven healthcare management background, Mr. Surges spent five years at CCC Information Services, Inc. (CCCIS), a leading provider of claims management solutions for the insurance industry with annual revenues of $110 million.

Mr. Surges sits on the Board of Merge Healthcare, is an active member in Young Presidents Organization (YPO – Chicago Chapter) and assists many small start ups with their early stage planning and execution.  He is married with three children and currently resides in the west suburbs of Chicago.
